Collection: Graphite Pencils
We're sure you don't need us to tell you that pencils contain no actual lead, but rather a mixture of graphite and clay. Because it resembled soft metal, graphite was commonly referred to as lead. The relative softness or hardness of the pencil lead is determined by the varying proportions of ingredients. We have pencils ranging in hardness from a super-soft and smudgy 10B to a super-hard 10H. HB takes a seat in the center. B and 2B are good for general-purpose writing and drawing because they are a little darker and smoother than HB.
